Fast Facts: Fredericton is known as the capital of the province of New Brunswick in Canada. Situated along the Saint John River, it is considered as the third largest city in the province along with Saint John and Moncton. Its motto is “Fredericopolis, silvae filia nobilis” a Latin phrase which when translated in English means “Fredericton, noble daughter of the forest”. In addition, the region was initially used as a farming area by the Mi’kmaq and Maliseet peoples.
