Fast Facts: Once known as the Frobisher Bay, the same name of its adjacent bay, Iqaluit is the largest and capital city of the province of Nunavut in Canada. It is located along the coast of Baffin Island and was said to have been first established by Nakasuk, the founder of the city. While its inhabitants are called Iqalummiut, the region was proclaimed as a city in 2001.
